Description
This is an upright shave used to make the Willow skein the same width. It is adjustable, using a brass thumb screw, so you can make the skein any width that you would like
I custom make the knives out of oil hardening tool steel. I have been making knives for many years. I only problem If you want to make your own upright shave is you need all the tools that a knife maker has at their disposal.
After sharpening The knife is then bent at a right angle with a little bit of offset so the back of the knife will not drag on the skein as it’s being cut. Then I harden the knife by heating to a cherry red and then quenching it in oil, then tempering the knife in a oven at 400° for 2 hours. If cared for a properly it should stay sharp for years.,
