Description
This is a skin shave used to shave the split Willow rod to the thickness that you need.
The shave has a very sharp knife installed with shims. You can adjust the knife height by removing the shims.
This tool has a 3/8 thick work table. It is raised off the wood base that can be clamped to a table. That’s why the workspace is raised, so it will clear any clamps that you use. I highly recommend that this tool be clamped to a table when working with it. Your thumb needs to be protected from the sharp blade by using a leather gloves or a thumb peace cut off a leather glove.
When I ship this to you the work table has been waxed, with a paste wax. I do this for two reasons: one to make it slick and to keep it from resting. I highly recommend that you use a good paste wax on this table, it can be any wax but a good car paste wax will work excellently.
