I finish all of my tools with Cutting Board Oil made by Walrus Oil.
I use this because is leaves the wood looking good, feeling good, and protects the wood from moisture. I could put a high gloss finish on the handles and tools, but this finish on a tool handle will crack, peel, and just look bad after repeated use.
I wanted a finish that would protect the wood, be easy for the end user to reapply to keep the tool looking good. I found this product when a weaver that had received her tools, contacted me and said that she had used Walrus Oil on her new tool handles. This information intrigued me so I ordered some, liked the way it worked, and have been using it since.
I would recommend that you apply cutting board oil to your hardwood tool handles and other wooden parts, when needed. In this way, your tools will look good for years.
It is also a good finish to keep your wooden handles used on your kitchen tools looking good.
